Visiting the women’s school where Asha is a board member. For various reasons, these women have never completed their education, but now are making up for lost time. The school hours have been adjusted so that they can combine it with their other tasks and everyone pays according to their ability. Empowerment at its best.

Op bezoek bij de vrouwenschool waar Asha bestuurslid is. Deze vrouwen hebben om uiteenlopende reden hun scholing nooit voltooid, maar halen de schade alsnog in. De schooltijden zijn aangepast zodat ze het kunnen combineren met hun andere taken en iedereen betaald naar vermogen. Empowerment in optima forma.

Wat is het probleem?

De kinderen van de Lotus familie gaan zelden uit eten (voor sommige was het meer dan 5 jaar geleden) en wij wilden op een passende wijze afscheid nemen.

Wat is de oplossing?

Met z’n allen uit eten en genieten.

Wat is het resultaat?

Een mooi afscheid aan het einde van een bijzondere reis en levenslange herinneringen voor alle betrokkenen.

Een geweldige ‘see you later’ party bij de Lotus familie met zang, dans en taekwondo. Geweldig Daarna met z’n allen uiteten; voor de kids was dat voor het eerst in 5 jaar. Fantastische avond. Extra leuk omdat Imke, Merel en André er bij waren. Genoten. Love you all

Had a super ‘see you later’ party at the Lotus family home with song, dance and taekwondo. Fantastic Afterwards we all went out for dinner; for the kids is was the first time in 5 years. Great night. Extra fun because Imke, Merel and André were there. So much joy. Love you all

What is the problem?

The children of the Lotus family rarely go out for dinner (for some it was more than 5 years ago) and we wanted to say ‘see you later’ in a festive way.

What is the solution?

Going out for dinner with everyone and have a great time doing it.

What is the result?

A beautiful farewell at the end of a special journey and lifelong memories for everyone involved.

We quickly played tourist on the must-see Durban square, bought Nepali tea and burned a candle at the Stupa.

Over the years I applied the rule of ‘never saying goodbye’; instead I always say ‘see you later’. That time of the journey has now arrived. Today we had a nice ‘see you later’ lunch with our graduate nurses Fudoma, Tsering and Ellie. It was also my fourth birthday party, complete with cake. 😋 Afterwards we went to say see you later said in the DRC.

It always hurts a little, but luckily I’m sure I’ll come back. Miss you already dear big and small Nepali friends.

Door de jaren heen de regel van ‘never saying goodbye’ gehanteerd; in plaats daarvan zeg ik altijd ‘see you later’. Die tijd van de reis is alweer aangebroken. Vandaag een gezellige ‘see you later’ lunch genuttigd met onze afgestudeerde verpleegkundigen Fudoma, Tsering en Ellie. Was ook meteen mijn vierde verjaardagsfeestje compleet met taart. Daarna ook see you later gezegd in de DRC.

Doet altijd toch een beetje pijn maar gelukkig weet ik zeker dat ik weer terug kom. Mis jullie nu al lieve grote en kleine Nepali vrienden.
