Our scholars
Thanks to the scholarship from 4 Smiling Faces, these young people are busy with their further education, doing internships, gaining work experience and thus taking steps towards their own, independent life.
If all goes according to plan, the following young people will graduate in 2025 and begin their own independent lives:
Gita is a highly valued volunteer at the after-school program SHCOP. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies since 2020, specializing in accounting. Due to Covid 19, she was unable to apply for a job for a long time and she continues to learn. She has now obtained her teaching qualification and will started her master’s degree in January 2024.

Suddha is a former resident of the NWCSS Orphanage. In 2019, she completed the extended school program Plus2 science with a scholarship from us. She then started teaching, but that stopped due to corona. She started the 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications in 2021.
Anusha we know through the out-program of the NWCSS orphanage and she and her family were severely effected by the earthquakes of 2015. She started the 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies in 2023.
Ellie is a former resident of the DRC. She has been a PCL-certified nurse since 2020. She is currently working in the general surgical department of OM Hospital and Research Center in Kathmandu.
She is now in the United Kingdom to work and learn for a few years in the National Health Service.

Dispashmi we know through the out-program of the NWCSS orphanage and she and her family were severely effected by the earthquakes of 2015. She will do her entrance exam in august 2024 and – when she passes, will start the 3-year PCL-course Nursing in 2023.
Binod is a member of de Lotus family. In December 2024 he started studying for his Bachelor’s degree in Music.

Nisha we know through the out-program of the NWCSS orphanage and she and her family were severely effected by the earthquakes of 2015. She and her family were severely affected by the 2015 earthquakes. She started the 4-year Bachelor in Business Studies program in 2023.
Sachina is a former visitor and now a valued volunteer at the SHCOP after-school care center. She began the three-year PCL degree in Nursing in 2023.

Sujata we know from the after-school program SHCOP. She and her family were severely affected by the 2015 earthquakes. She will start PCL Computer Engineering in 2025.
Sikriti we know from the after-school program SHCOP. She and her family were severely affected by the 2015 earthquakes. She is doing her last years of high school.
We also help an exception to the rule; Ushtav, who was orphaned by the earthquakes of 2015. He was allowed to go to a free school, very far from the house where he lived. There was no money for a better school, closer to home. This has been funded by 4 Smiling Faces since 2016, so that he too can just be a child and have a promising future.
Ushtav has been a regular visitor to the after-school care SHCOP for years. He is still in high school. He is smart and works hard.
Ushtav skipped a grade and wants to become a doctor.
Until 2024 we also supported his 1 year older sister Ushika, but she was recently taken out of school by her mother. 😠 At the moment we cannot get in touch with her 😥, but we keep trying because she deserves it. She always welcome back in our program.
