Spent the afternoon at the after-school program, which we have also support for years. The children were diligently doing homework. So nice to see them again after a year; the shelter is clearly doing them good work and that makes us happy. Homework guidance, good food and, if necessary, a shower and clean clothes. It’s that simple, and it really works. We will continue to support these children who truly deserve it.

Today we had a visit from our scholarship recipient Naani, who has now graduated in PCL-civil engineering and that is quite special for a young lady in Nepal. Small in stature but big in decisiveness: she will now do an internship and gain work experience and then continue her studies so that she has even better opportunities in the labour market. 💪🏼Go Naani go. We always support you.

Had an unexpected visit from Suddha, one of our scholarship recipients. And she so deserves our help and support because life is far from easy for her. But she continues. Go Suddha go. You can count on us.

Today we visited the DRC, the home for children with an illness or disability. Amongst other things we discussed the progress of the new build project. It was very nice to see the therapy room and stove (which we provided previously) being put to good use. Progress is visible, and at the same time, there is still plenty to do. We shall go on.

A very useful day for the foundation, but unfortunately not very photogenic: this morning we extensively discussed all the recipients of our scholarship program with our people here. And this afternoon we met with people from the home for children with disabilities/illnesses. If you want to work in Nepal you also have to network. In between, we enjoyed nature on the edge of the city. Beautiful.

Relaxed day after the flying start of the first few days: everything needs to sink in. Today I only visited the Lotus Family; a warm reunion with this special, sweet and beautiful foster family. Besides the fun, there was of course delicious food (bottom left). On the way we came across the garbage truck: we will never complain about working conditions again. Wow! And the bottom right is just so you know…
