New kitchen
Work done
What is the problem?
The kitchen is very dark; outdated; damaged everywhere; repaired (too) often; has hardly any storage space; does not ventilate well; is difficult to keep clean, is impractically laid out and, above all, unsafe to work in.
On balance, the kitchen is not suitable for daily cooking for a family with 12 children and three adults. And certainly not if the children want to help pleasantly and safely, something they would like to do. This is also necessary because cooking is an important life skill for children on the way to an independent life.
What is the solution?
The solution is to completely demolish/strip the old kitchen and build a new one.
What is the result?
The new kitchen has plenty of cupboard/storage space, is easy to keep clean and safe to work in. There is a large, mobile work table, so everyone can help cook and work at standing height, new cooking rings and a large refrigerator. Good ventilation and safety have also been ensured through French doors leading outside. The whole is finished with fresh, light paint on the walls and ceiling and the extension, replacement and addition of eating utensils.
The entire Lotus family has contributed (to the best of their ability) to the realization of the project. Their contribution is essential for the sense of ownership, self-confidence, and house pride.
