Ashmita

I am in the eighth grade. My mother’s name is Anita, my father’s is Amit, and I have a sister, Laxini. I lived in Kapan, Kharibot. My father is an alcoholic and works occasionally. My sister works as a senior sales associate in a bakery.

My mother came to Kathmandu 11 or 12 years ago looking for work. After she started working at the Lotus Family Foundation, I came along with her two years later. When I was 7 years old, I went to school with my Lotus brothers and sisters.

My family’s financial situation was not good. Since my mother started working here, our situation has improved enormously thanks to my mother (Binita Lama) and my father (Iman Lama). My time here with the Lotus family has been an amazing journey. I never thought I would find a family that loves me as much as my own family. I feel loved when I am with my brothers and sisters.

I have many hobbies, such as dancing, reading books, and playing games. My goal is to become a chef. I enjoy cooking, so after obtaining my S.E.E. diploma, I plan to study Hotel Management. I would like to work in this sector, possibly as a head manager or in another responsible position. I also want to open my own restaurant if I get the chance. I want to become an independent woman.
