2018 SHCOP Solar panel

2018 SHCOP Solar panel

Work done
Febuary 2018

What is the problem?
The SHCOP is housed on the ground floor and does not easily heated; there is no such thing as central or any other form of heating. That is why the children have to take cold showers (which they do at the SHCOP because they don’t have that opportunity at home) all year round. That is not only uncomfortable but also detrimental to their health, because it is a risk for catching a cold.

What is the solution?
The solution is to install additional water tubes  connectie to the excisting solar system, so the SHCOP will have access to hot water all the time.

What is the result?
This installation will make taking a shower way more comfortable and reduces the risk of the children catching a cold.

4 Smiling Faces

Smiling Faces is the abbreviation for the Helping Hands 4 Smiling Faces Foundation, that was started by Tjitske Weersma in 2008. We improve the living conditions of children in children’s homes in developing countries with specific, small-scale projects in which they are central. We also support them when they have to leave those homes at 18 and have no safety net to fall back on. With us they come first. With our help they’ll go so much further, are they able to make their own choices and can they make shape their own lives.
