On the occasion of the main Hindu Festival of Dashain (in October) children in Nepal will traditionally get new clothes and shoes. The NWCSS orphanage can’t honour that tradition because there is no money for that. If nobody steps up to the plate, the children will suffer because they will be the only ones with nothing new to wear.
Therefore we will pay for the new clothes and shoes. Not only because of tradition, but mostly because they really need new clothes and shoes. It’s been a long time since they last got anything new to wear. Too long for growing children. The clothes and shoes they wear today are really old and worn and not easily cleaned anymore.
