2012 Bo’ai Washing machine

Since we had no English-speaking contact person at Bo’ai, we had no contact with the centre for a long time. To our great sorrow. But recently, friends of friends were in Xi’an in China and the visited Bo’ai on our behave. So finally there is contact and we once again can do something for them.

The friends of friends have visited the center extensively and let us know what is needed. In the short run, they need a new washing machine. For exercising the muscles of the children they also need  beads and a type ‘lego’. They are still looking at the options of also buying a new outdoor climbing frame.

4 Smiling Faces

Smiling Faces is the abbreviation for the Helping Hands 4 Smiling Faces Foundation, that was started by Tjitske Weersma in 2008. We improve the living conditions of children in children’s homes in developing countries with specific, small-scale projects in which they are central. We also support them when they have to leave those homes at 18 and have no safety net to fall back on. With us they come first. With our help they’ll go so much further, are they able to make their own choices and can they make shape their own lives.
